Fine Italian Labeled Violin N 39 GETANO CHIOCCHI (Signed) fece in Padova 1971 A lovely instrument with an incredibly rich robust mature tone. Suitable for solo playing and would blend in well in chamber settings as well. Set up with Tonica strings which bring out the booming voice of this incredible antique violin. The back is a wonderful one piece back with high flame. Matching sides of gorgeous flame and delicately carved scroll as well. Use is evident on the top. Fingerboard; nut, neck and tailpiece with single Hill e loop fine tuner are of ebony. New boxwood chin rest. French style bridge and a parchment on E for protection. The varnish is a lovey golden brown with as mentioned signs of ware. No case or bow. Open seams or cracks are not present either.
