Strange Antique Patinated Metal Lion Inkwell c1910
STRANGE, ALMOST FRIGHTENING POT METAL LION INKWELL This is an odd but interesting item, made of pot metal in the form of a ferocious looking lion, front paws crossed over one another, with a hinged head that opens to reveal a recess that I believe once held a glass insert to hold ink, but has since been fitted with a metal "screen" on the top with holes in it. The lion has a red tongue and the white teeth are exposed. Probably not a good idea to put this in a small child's room. The inkwell is almost 6" wide and about 4-1/2" tall. It has felt applied to the underside and no maker's marks are found. We believe the inkwell dates to circa 1910.Stuff You Should Read About How We Do Business: ~We are always happy to combine orders for shipping if we can. ~ Payment is due no later than 3 days...
