Vintage ~ c1880 ~ "The Agenoria" by "The Franklin Sewing Machine Co."
This "Agenoria" sewing machine by "The Franklin Sewing Machine Co." is in "as found" condition. The machine was made by the short lived manufactuer "The Franklin Sewing Machine Co.", the company was established around 1870 by Arthur Maxfield, Isaac Cole and Charles Fowkes and lasted until 1872. The machine has lost much of its' gilt work, however, the cast metal body is intact with no chips or cracks that I can find, however, there are the scuffs, marks and chips that you would expect from a well used item. The exposed metal work does have blemishes and , particularly to the cloth plate. The shuttle cover is a replacement and the bobbin and shuttle are missing.
